Pilot and passenger identified in fatal Tampa plane crash: HCSO Two people were killed in a Tampa plane crash on Thursday morning near U.S. Highway 301, officials said. Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) said the pilot has been identified as David Saimbanes, 59 and Dawn Stone, 53. At approximately 8:16 a.m., HCFR's Emergency Dispatch Communications Center began receiving multiple 911 calls about the crash. Upon arrival, firefighters found a small aircraft heavily involved in fire. Two individuals were
confirmed deceased. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
